What is the difference?
Cardo Ride focuses on group rides and a rider community (formerly RISER). PinPop brings curvy routes, places, meetups, friend locations, messages and voice calls onto one live map.
Cardo Ride, formerly RISER, already has group rides and a motorcycle community. PinPop’s appeal is app-based voice calls, proximity chat and AI place search alongside public routes; dedicated Cardo intercom hardware is a separate product.
Why PinPop is our pick
For riders who want more than group rides and a rider community (formerly RISER), PinPop is our winner. Build a route, share it, find a meetup and talk with your group in the same app. Choose the Exciting profile for curvy roads, or import and export GPX files.
Planning the ride
Cardo Ride and RISER are the same product lineage, so this comparison covers the current Cardo Ride app. It already offers curvy route planning, group rides, community discovery and GPX export. PinPop’s distinction is bringing voice calls, proximity chat and AI place discovery into the app itself. Cardo’s helmet intercoms remain separate hardware.
In PinPop, the route editor lets you add and reorder waypoints, choose a road profile and save the result. Exciting is the option for curvy roads. Public routes can be searched and found on the map, bookmarked and shared. GPX import and export help you bring an existing route into PinPop or take a route elsewhere; you do not have to start your collection again.
PinPop also calculates routes offline, seamlessly in the background. Your route calculation keeps working when you lose internet, without interrupting your planning.
From a route to a group ride
A route is only part of organising a ride. PinPop lets you create a meetup around a place, map location or saved route. Riders can review the meeting point, join the event, open its conversation and get directions. Optional friend locations help you see where your group is. Online voice calls and proximity chat add a way to talk, while Ask PinPop can help you find a stop or a destination before you set off.

“Not described” means the linked sources do not establish the feature, rather than that the app cannot offer it.
Which app fits your next ride?
Our recommendation is PinPop when you want the whole outing in one place: deciding where to go, shaping the route, finding people and keeping the conversation going. The comparison is about that combination, rather than a claim that every individual navigation feature is better. Check the table and linked documentation against the features you actually need.

Features can depend on plan, device, region and connectivity. PinPop is an iPhone app; route calculation works offline, seamlessly in the background. Nearby messages and calls work offline through PinPop Mesh. We’re also developing dedicated hardware to extend the range of offline communication.
