How riders compete on route leaderboards

Compare eligible route completions and best times, and understand why a ride may not be ranked.

Guides

PinPop leaderboards belong to individual saved routes. You can compare Best Time or Most Completions, so competition can mean returning to a favourite road rather than chasing speed. Rankings use eligible recorded journeys; a route preview or an unsynchronised recording is not a completed leaderboard result.

How to do it in PinPop

  1. Open a saved route from the map or My Routes and find Leaderboard. Switch between Best Time and Most Completions to see the two rankings for that route.
  2. Start the route and acknowledge the safety reminder. Complete the route and save the resulting journey. Allow it to synchronise before checking the leaderboard again.
  3. When creating or editing your own route, use Leaderboard Rules → Speed Limit to set its ranking limit. A journey whose recorded top speed exceeds that limit is excluded from ranking.

What to know before you ride

Follow road laws and conditions; never take risks to improve a time. A route’s leaderboard limit is not permission to exceed a legal speed limit. Invalid tracking can also exclude a journey. For a shared route session, Start with friends offers invitations and results, but it is separate from creating a public meetup.
