Riders can talk through a PinPop conversation instead of coordinating everything by text. Open a direct or group chat and use its phone button to start or join the call. For a planned ride, a group call keeps the conversation with the people you chose; proximity chat is a separate way to speak with nearby users.
How to do it in PinPop
- Open Social, choose your conversation and tap the phone button. Allow microphone access. Other members can join the same call; configure your audio before moving.
- Open the full call view from the active call header. Use mute, speaker and listening controls, or select an available microphone input. Check that your intended headset is actually receiving the audio.
- For nearby conversation instead, open World → + → Join Proximity Chat. This uses your location and an internet connection, with voices fading as people get farther away.
What to know before you ride
Online calls need internet. Offline calling requires Mesh Network enabled, local-network permission and devices within range of each other. It is not a promise of long-range, phone-only communication without coverage. No specific headset brand is required by this guide; test your own setup while stationary.
